Starfighter364's Top Ten Girls for Ash

Here are is another meme, one that I mentioned to that I planned to do. My top ten girls to be paired with Ash as of the moment this is posted.

Honorable Mentions: Cynthia, Anabel, May, and Miette. I like them all with Ash, but the ten on the list manage to beat them out for it (granted they almost make the list). Don't know why I like Cynthia with him so much, I just do, and the other two have been confirmed to have romantic feelings for him.

Without further ado, my top ten

Number 10: Elesa
Shipping name: Raimeishipping

The Electric Gym Leader of Nimbasa City in Unova. In the anime, she seemed to flirt with Ash quite frequently whenever she was talking to him (and considering that she only appeared in a couple episodes, that's saying something). I expected them to try to edit out the hints in the dubbed version, but surprisingly, it shone through (pun intended). I can't remember much right off hand, as I only saw the episodes once per language that I saw them, and it has been a while since then, so don't ask me for any specific details.

Number 9: Bianca (Unova)
Shipping name: Imaginationshipping

The second Pokémon girl to be named that (granted they have different names in Japan). This girl always bumps into Ash, and sending him into a body of water (no matter how unlikely him landing in one is), making him have to remove most of his clothes to let them dry, every time she sees him. Once, maybe twice in a row is an accident, but more than that, especially if it happens every single time, and there's no way it's an accident. This girl wants to see Ash's bare chest.

Number 8: Angie
Shipping name: Morpheusshipping

Ash's rival from the Sinnoh Pokémon Summer Academy, this tomboy is also the daughter of a couple of Pokémon Daycare workers, she started off not getting along with Ash at all, starting arguments with him, and getting them both in trouble when it really wasn't his fault (I mean really, why did he get punished for getting attacked anyway, how does that make sense). She slowly warmed up to him, and fell for him when he saved her life. Her parents even picked it up, despite only meeting him once for a short amount of time. Unlike many stereotypical girls who fall for guys in fictional series, she doesn't go easy on him, despite her feelings. Incidentally, she's also the second girl Ash thought was a guy at first who fell for him.

Number 7: Georgia
Shipping name: Confidenceshipping

I really have no clue why I support this pairing, as it doesn't really have many, if any, hints of them liking each other. Personally, it makes no sense for Georgia and Iris to be rivals, despite what people would think due to the "Dragon Master" and "Dragon Buster" thing, the reason why? Quite simple, at the time they became rivals, Iris was making no progress with her goal, only having one dragon, which was given to her, and focusing on having many types. Ash would have made a better rival for her, since he has a dragon and a dragon-like Pokémon that might as well be one, since dragon trainers use (I'm looking at you, Lance), and that's before it got a dragon Mega Evolution. Imagine how that subplot would develop if Ash and Georgia became rivals.

Number 6: Iris
Shipping name: Negaishipping

Iris is hated by a large portion of the anime fanbase, and constantly flanderized because of her "What a little kid" line, which actually isn't said much. Iris follows Ash for no real explained reason, pretending not to at first, but she comes around. She worries about Ash frequently, goes out of her way to help him, and as proven in his battle against Roxie, isn't afraid to make herself look like a fool to help him out. Ash also has the utmost confidence in her, believing in her when no one else does. They actually went out on a date in one episode, granted, they didn't call it a date.

Number 5: Macy
Shipping name: Fireshipping

"What are you, his girlfriend?" - Macy

"N-No, I'm his coach." - Misty

"Then stay out of his love life!" - Macy

Do I really need to say anything about this one? Macy is a girl who started out as one of Ash's rivals in the Silver Conference. She decided to challenge him to get a feel for her competition after finding out that he was her first true opponent in the Conference. Team Rocket interrupted them, and stole Pikachu and Macy's Vulpix, so the two went to get them back. Macy tripped, and started tumbling down. Ash stopped her from getting injured by slamming against a rock by making sure he took the collision, cushioning the blow for her. Macy fell head-over-heels (pun not intended this time, I just noticed) in love with him. She and Misty did not get along, being rivals for Ash's affection, and having opposite opinions on water Pokémon (despite Macy having a Starmie, leading me to think she was just trying to anger Misty).

It is worthy to note that before this catfight, Ash frequently showed he understood love, but in future regions acted oblivious when girls around his age were around, implying that he is trying to play the dense card to try to dissuade them (not working though). Like Angie, Macy doesn't hold back on her crush, going all out in their battle, yet cheering him on against his next opponent, and congratulating him afterwards. Unlike the other girls on the list, she actually confessed her feelings for Ash.

Number 4: Latias
Shipping name: Altoshipping

This one is debated. Some people think the kiss at the end was given by Bianca (not to be confused with the one from Unova), despite her not showing feelings for him, and Latias showing them throughout the movie. There are too many in that movie to list, but to put it to rest, there are several differences between Bianca and Latias's Bianca form that I noticed in the movie my second time watching it (one of my disorders/syndromes, causes me to pick out that kind of stuff without really trying, but I don't know which, as I can't remember which does which things to me sometimes with how they usually go hand-in-hand by what the doctors told my family). The two I remember right off hand are that Latias's Bianca form is slightly taller than Ash, while Bianca herself is shorter (the one who kissed him was a little taller, and had to bend over slightly) and the fact that their eyelashes are different (the one who kissed him had Latias's eyelashes). Also, a book read only in the Japanese version, and Bianca, who has known Latios and Latias all her life have both stated that Latias and Latios (in the book) actually do turn into humans, and that it isn't just an illusion.

The next three keep switching places on me, but this is how it is right now.

Number 3: Dawn
Shipping name: Pearlshipping

Yes, I know I didn't use her normal outfit for this (unlike the others), but this makes things stand out more, because unlike the others, she dresses up in a cheerleader outfit for him to inspire him (acting like a typical devoted cheerleader for him), going further than his other traveling companions will. She is always more worried about Ash than anyone else they interact with, including Brock and her childhood friend, Kenny, and goes out of her way to help him out and cheer him up when depressed. At one point, she even considered abandoning her dream, because she was worried she was holding Ash back. Whenever something scares her, she goes to Ash first for protection, even when others are closer to her physically 

Every time he puts himself in danger, she gets extremely worried while Ash is in danger, and then extremely mad at him when it is over for making her worry if it is caused by his recklessness. Ash is also quick to protect her both physically and emotionally, buying her ice cream when sad, pulling her out of the way of a charging Mamoswine (hers), getting angry and shouting at Ursula for insulting her, and comforting her when her crippling fear of Plusle and Minum is revealed. She went out of the way to avoid bringing up her fried bike, unlike Misty and May before her, waving it off when Ash found out, instead of exploiting it, and planned to go with him when he left Sinnoh, only deciding not to in order to allow Buneary to become a model for Poké Stylists.

Number 2: Misty
Shipping name: Pokeshipping

"It sure is weird thinking of Brock getting married" - Ash

"Someday we'll be married too" - Misty

Ash nods before they realize what she said, and both react in shock and panic

The original pairing for Ash. He was original supposed to end up with her (the preview commercials for the first movie in Japan showed them having a child), whether or not he does now is unclear. Misty claims to be following him for her bike, but it is something she soon forgets, and continues following him because she wants to, and even the first time she claims it, she doesn't sound very truthful about it. She cares greatly for him, as like Dawn, she gets extremely worried about him when he is in danger, and extremely angry afterwards if it was caused by his recklessness. The whole Orange Islands arc hinted frequently about their feelings, being called out on it several times.

The two go out of their way to protect each other, worrying about each other more than anyone else, with Misty, like Dawn, going to Ash first for protection, even when others are closer to her physically. The two get jealous whenever someone else shows romantic interest in the other, or whenever the other is showing romantic interest in another person. Misty once threatened bodily harm to Ritchie because Team Rocket once used a voice changer and puppet to trick Ash and kidnap him before his battle with Ritchie, despite no one else. even Brock and Ash's mother doing the same or trying to stop her.

Number 1: Serena
Shipping name: Amourshipping

This girl has actually been confirmed to be in love with Ash, and went on her journey specifically to join up with him, despite not knowing what she wants out of her journey. She is sassy and not afraid to talk back to people who annoy her, even her own mother, but is docile around Ash, seemingly not wanting to tarnish his opinion of her (the only time she doesn't act like that around him is when Miette is flirting with him, and she is hostile to her in return, up until the end of the episode Miette appears, where they have become friends).

Serena gets worried when she thinks a girl is showing romantic interest in Ash or the other way around, and is extremely overjoyed when Ash is successful at something or he says something positive to her. She holds his opinion in high regard, asking him what he thinks of how she looks, or how something she does turns out, but never asks others. She has far more confidence in his skills than Clemont and Bonnie, convincing them he will definitely win when they are worried about his chances.
